Commuter Benefit Plans are a monthly benefit and unused balances will automatically roll from month to month. There is no “use-it-or-lose-it” with a CBP at the end of the year. Additionally, there is no requirement to re-enroll each year. Elections will automatically roll until you request a change. If you are submitting a claim for eligible van pool or parking expenses, reimbursements must be requested within 180 days of incurring the expense.
Note that at this time, the updated UberX Share and Lyft Share Rides programs no longer meet the IRS requirements for a Commuter Benefit Plan and are no longer eligible expenses.
